Gay rights: Not in Russia

America at twilight: Rachel Jeantel, the prosecution's illiterate star witness in the George Zimmerman trial who can't even read her own "cursive" writing, quotes Zimmerman victim Trayvon Martin's description of Zimmerman as a "creepy ass cracker."

When asked whether the term "creepy ass cracker" was widely used by blacks to describe whites in general, Jeantel replied affirmatively. Thus, Jeantel has become the poster-child for liberalism's black America.

And after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) former President Bill Clinton hailed the ruling as a victory for gays against the bigotry and intolerance of neanderthals who hold to a biblical worldview of marriage. Who signed DOMA into law in 1996? It was President Bill Clinton.

But not to worry. Those of you neanderthals who still bitterly cling to your outdated Jim Crow view of marriage should realize that over in Russia, the government has also embraced a neanderthal view of marriage. In Russia, the homosexual lifestyle is definitely out and the heterosexual lifestyle is definitely in.

How much is the homosexual lifestyle now frowned upon by Czar Putin and his government? According to Russian theater director Kirill Serebrennikov, this much: "Guys, (gays) get out of Russia as fast as you can. You are not destined to be happy here." (The New Republic, Feb. 8, 2013)

Indeed. Unlike the United States where the Christian Church is increasingly viewed as a decaying relic from a bygone era, Russia's Orthodox Church is increasingly sought out by the Kremlin for moral and spiritual inspiration.

Such as this inspiration from the Rev. Sergiy Rybko concerning gays, lesbians and transgenders: "Until this scum gets off of Russian land, I fully share the views of those who are trying to purge our motherland of it. We either become a tolerant Western state where everything is allowed--and lose our Christianity and moral foundations--or we will be a Christian people who live in our God-protected land in purity and godliness." (NY Daily News, January 21, 2013)

Unlike America that is now well on its way to legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states, the Russian parliament is pushing legislation that would ban all publications and materials that promote the homosexual lifestyle.

And all public displays of homosexuality (gay parades, public kissing etc.) would be banned as well. According to the NY Daily News: "The bill (legislation) is part of an effort to promote traditional Russian values as opposed to Western liberalism, which the Kremlin and the church see as corrupting Russian youth and by extension contributing to a wave of protest against President Putin's role."

Many in America and the western world aren't concerned with Russia and its increasing crackdown on godless secularism and its sacred byproducts such as multiculturalism and homosexuality.

But they should be. Because biblical prophecy reveals that a world government is coming that will be controlled by Russia. (Daniel 11, Ezekiel 38-39) Biblical prophecy also reveals that a powerful religion is going to play a key role in this coming global government. And if Russia is destined to become a close partner with a powerful religion, then homosexuality will be banned across the world.

And so, if you want to see what the future of the world is going to look like, look at Russia. Because in Russia, the present is the future. 

Dangerous Hypocrites

Paula Deen

"If any of you is without sin, let him be the first one to throw a stone."--John 8:7

Of course, when you believe that sin is some outdated concept that's only embraced by religious cretans, then you can throw all the stones you want. 

Especially at your enemies, such as Paula Deen, a celebrity chef and host of a popular cooking show on the Food Network who recently made the fatal faux pas of admitting she had used the dreaded N-word in her past.

For those who aren't familiar with the N-word and what it stands for, it's a derogatory term that's historically been applied to blacks.

Deen admitted she used that term in a deposition she gave in a sexual harrassment lawsuit filed against her by a former employee named Lisa Jackson.  Jackson is a white woman who once managed a restaurant owned by Deen and her brother. When Jackson's attorney asked Deen if she had ever used the N-word, she was honest and gave an affirmative answer.

For being honest, Deen is now being crucified by the hypocritical left. The Food Network, under crushing pressure by leftists and their media hounds, has informed Deen that her show will not be renewed after her contract expires at the end of this month. That was to be expected after several of the show's sponsors bailed.

Keep in mind that all Deen did was admit under oath that she used a derogatory word in the past that's offensive to blacks. And keep in mind that she's also apologized for using the term.

Apparently, apologies never suffice when they come from southern white conservatives. Those are the people that leftists seek to ruin. And Deen has become yet another casualty of leftist fascists who want to silence and destroy conservatives and evangelical Christians.

And so, consider this: While Deen has been savaged by America's self-righteous Marxist media, Rep. Ryan Winkler, a democratic state representative from Minnesota, has been given a free pass by much of the media after he recently called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas an "Uncle Thomas" for voting to strike down an oppressive section contained in the Voting Rights Act.

 Anyone with a functional brain knows just how offensive that term is to blacks. It's in the same category with the N-word. An "Uncle Tom" is an extremely repugnant term used to demean a black person by insinuating that he's a moron and a puppet of whites.

And now, consider this: Unlike Deen who had the decency to admit that she used slurs against blacks in the past, Winkler copped a pathetic excuse after he was confronted for using his racially insensitive remark to describe Thomas. Winkler claimed he didn't know that the term "Uncle Thomas" was a racial slur.

Anyone who believes that should never be allowed to vote again in the state of Minnesota. And if Deen has been forced to suffer the punishment of losing her popular cooking show, then Winkler should be recalled. He has no business being in politics. He's a buffoon and an embarrassment to the United States of America.

And he's a typical leftist who's a morally bankrupt hypocrite. From the Book of Proverbs: "Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue." (Proverbs 17:28) 

Judas Iscariot 2013?

Alan Chambers

Alan Chambers, the founder of Exodus International, a Christian ministry devoted to delivering people from the homosexual lifestyle to the heterosexual lifestyle, recently had a change of heart and will no longer try to persuade gays to become straight.

Chambers, who describes himself as a homosexual once again after he described himself as an ex-homosexual for many years, apologized to America's gay community for attempting to do what he now claims is impossible according to nature.

And so, Exodus International, the ministry Chambers launched 37 years ago in Anaheim, California is now past tense. As apparently are the thousands of people that Chambers and his former ministry convinced to leave the homosexual lifestyle. Many of those people not only made the choice to become heterosexuals, they married and raised families.

Here's Chambers' apology for what he now claims was a grievous mistake on his part: "Please know that I am deeply sorry. I am sorry for the pain and hurt many of you have experienced. I am sorry that some of you spent years working through the shame and guilt you felt when your attractions didn’t change. I am sorry we promoted sexual orientation change efforts and reparative theories about sexual orientation that stigmatized parents. I am sorry that there were times I didn’t stand up to people publicly 'on my side' who called you names like sodomite—or worse. I am sorry that I, knowing some of you so well, failed to share publicly that the gay and lesbian people I know were every bit as capable of being amazing parents as the straight people that I know. I am sorry that when I celebrated a person coming to Christ and surrendering their sexuality to Him that I callously celebrated the end of relationships that broke your heart. I am sorry that I have communicated that you and your families are less than me and mine."

I don't pretend to know what motivated Chambers to renounce his biblical worldview of homosexuality after so many years. Was he bought? That's a good possibility. Was he marginalized and threatened by America's formidable and militant gay lobby? That's a stronger possibility. That lobby has the strong backing of the Obama White House, Hollywood, the education industry and the media. If they desire, they have the power to destroy you.

It's possible that Chambers truly now believes that homosexuality is natural and God-given. But I doubt that. You don't operate a difficult ministry for 37 years unless you're absolutely convinced that the Bible is accurate in its proclamation of homosexuality. I believe that someone or some powerful organization coerced Chambers into renouncing his worldview.

Certainly, the Christian Church in America is under tremendous pressure to renounce the biblical view of homosexuality. And many churches already have. Those that don't are marginalized and ridiculed as bigots, racists and homophobes. 

They're lumped in with oddballs such as the Rev. Fred Phelps and his freakish Westboro Baptist Church. Obviously, no one wants to be associated with groups such as that one. And that's why many churches cave under the pressure. And that pressure can be relentless.

Nevertheless, consider the alternative. If homosexuality is indeed natural, then why is it condemned in the Bible? The Bible also condemns a lot of other things such as greed, witchcraft, fornication, adultery, murder etc. If Chambers now claims that the Bible is wrong about homosexuality, then what else is it wrong about?

Chambers might want to think about that. If he now believes that homosexuality is normal, then he'll also have to accept such things as pedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality, polygamy etc. You can't pick and choose what you want to believe in the Bible and throw the rest of it out.

That's like removing bricks from a building's foundation. And we know what that can cause.

Heroes or Villains?

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg

If Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were alive today, what would they tell Edward Snowden, the former contract employee for the NSA (National Security Agency) who recently leaked details of the U.S. government's alleged vast espionage program against its own citizens?

Certainly, if they were alive today, they'd be very old. However, they've been dead for 60 years. But if they could, they'd probably tell Snowden to run as far away from the U.S. as he can.

Who were the Rosenbergs? They were an extremely bright, ambitious and idealistic young couple who were very committed to their political beliefs. What were they committed to? They were committed to Marxism, so much so that they both joined the Young Communist League USA (YCLUSA) in the 1930s.

The U.S. government strongly believed that the Rosenbergs were such devout communists that they eventually came into contact with Soviet spies. The feds accused the Rosenbergs of committing treason by providing the spies with top secret military information they had stolen. The feds suspected that the Soviets used that information to build their first nuclear bomb.

Julius was an electrical engineer by trade and he worked for the Army Signal Corps Engineering Laboratories at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey as an engineer inspector until he was fired after the Army discovered his affiliation with communists. At Fort Monmouth, the Army conducted research on electronics, communications, radar and guided missile controls.

While Ethel worked as a secretary for a shipping company during that time, her brother David Greenglass, also a member of YCLUSA, worked at the government's Los Alamos, New Mexico laboratory where the military was designing its first nuclear bomb under the top secret Manhattan Project.

The government believed that the Rosenbergs obtained plans for the bomb through Greenglass and passed them on to Soviet spies. The Rosenbergs were eventually arrested, indicted and convicted of committing treason against the United States. They were sentenced to death and subsequently executed on June 19, 1953. 

Before Judge Irving Kaufman ordered capital punishment for the Rosenbergs, he blasted them for betraying their nation: “I consider your crime worse than murder. Plain deliberate contemplated murder is dwarfed in magnitude by comparison with the crime you have committed. In committing the act of murder, the criminal kills only his victim. The immediate family is brought to grief and when justice is meted out the chapter is closed. But in your case, I believe your conduct in putting into the hands of the Russians the A-bomb years before our best scientists predicted Russia would perfect the bomb has already caused, in my opinion, the Communist aggression in Korea, with the resultant casualties exceeding 50,000 and who knows but that millions more of innocent people may pay the price of your treason. Indeed, by your betrayal you undoubtedly have altered the course of history to the disadvantage of our country.”

Certainly, the Rosenbergs had their supporters. They saw the Rosenbergs as heroes who merely fought against an imperialistic government that favored the rich while crushing the poor. And many of them to this day, including their two sons Michael and Robert Meeropol, remain convinced that the government fabricated and embellished evidence to frame Julius and Ethel. 

They believe that the U.S. government sacrificed the Rosenbergs to send a message to spies and wannabes that if they got caught they would end up like them. And certainly, their supporters present a compelling argument.

Their sons do admit that Julius and Ethel collaborated with Soviet spies, but claim they never passed on anything of substantive value other than rudimentary sketches of the bomb. They don't believe their parents should've received the death penalty. They're convinced that the government murdered their parents.

Since I don't know all the facts concerning the case, I won't take sides. Certainly, when two young boys lose their parents, it has a profound emotional affect on them. Undoubtedly, they still carry emotional scars from that experience.

But whether the Rosenbergs were criminals or scapegoats, they never should've consorted with communists. They were young, foolish idealists who willfully believed that communism offered them a utopian paradise on earth where everyone coexisted peacefully, shared equally and lived happily ever-after.

And to help achieve that paradise, the Rosenbergs believed that they had to ruin their own nation by betraying it into the hands of those who slaughtered, pillaged, stole, persecuted and destroyed millions of innocent lives. They embraced a satanic political system that littered Eastern Europe with millions of corpses.

In the end, they became two more victims of a monstrous lie that continues to live on despite its moral, spiritual and intellectual bankruptcy.

Too bad. The Rosenbergs were neither heroes nor villains. Rather, they were fools who ignored the truth and embraced a lie that ultimately destroyed them. In Proverbs 14:12, we read: "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death."

Treachery and Unholiness

Steve Gleason

Who is Steve Gleason? He's a former professional football player who played eight seasons in the National Football League for the New Orleans Saints.

Gleason was known as an overachiever who, despite not being drafted after he graduated from Washington State, parlayed his heart, desire and ability to earn a roster spot as a safety with the Saints in 2000. And that was no small achievement.

He retired in 2008 and he led a normal life away from football until he was diagnosed in 2011 with the terrible disease known as ALS. ALS is short for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, and it's a debilitating affliction that's almost always fatal. ALS attacks the body's central nervous system by destroying motor neurons that allow the brain to send and receive signals from muscles.

The disease is also known as "Lou Gehrig's Disease." Gehrig was a baseball superstar for the New York Yankees in the 1920s and 30s until he was stricken with ALS. Gehrig died of the disease in 1941 at the young age of 38.

Gleason is 36. Some people, such as scientist Stephen Hawking, have actually managed to survive with the disease. But those few who do survive live as virtual prisoners trapped inside bodies that are barely able to function.

There's still no cure for ALS. We don't know how much longer Gleason has to live, but it's evident that he's entered into the advanced stages of ALS.

Why am I writing about Gleason? Because he was recently smeared on an Atlanta, Ga. radio station (790 The Zone) by hosts Steak Shapiro, Nick Cellini and Chris DiMino. Shapiro, Cellini and DiMino hosted a show called "Mayhem in the AM" until they were suspended and subsequently fired by station management on Monday (June 17) after they mocked Gleason and his medical condition.

I won't repeat what they said about Gleason because it was disgusting. Many who listened to the show were shocked by their comments and they called and emailed the station to express their outrage. When station management listened to the tape of the program, they had no choice but to fire Shapiro, Cellini and DiMino.

Shapiro, Cellini and DiMino have since apologized to Gleason for their stupid comments and Gleason has graciously accepted their apologies. Only Shapiro, Cellini and DiMino truly know whether their apologies are sincere or not.

But they never should have insulted a seriously ill man simply because they wanted to generate attention and ratings for their show. And because they did that, they got what they deserved.

And sadly, we live in a prophetic time where people are "without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God..."(2 Timothy 3:3-4)

And it's only going to get worse. When a man who's suffering from a horrible disease that's robbing him of his life is so maliciously demeaned by three radio clowns, then we are truly living in what biblical prophecy describes as the terrible last days. 

Renegade Jew

A rebel from Judaism

Unlike a lot of people these days, I don't like to talk about myself. In fact, I find people who spend too much time making themselves the centerpiece of the conversation to be shallow, insecure and narcissistic.

And yet, I'm often asked to explain why a Jew such as myself made the decision to become a Born-Again Christian on a hot summer evening in 1979.

Why? Because I considered the overwhelming evidence for Jesus Christ. And I realized that once I made that decision for Christ, there would be no turning back. I would lose friends, and I did. I would be scorned and shunned by family members. And that happened. And I would be considered a fool who was talked into Christianity because I was too dumb to know any better.

Actually, there were always those who saw me as an idiot who would never succeed at anything. So, I guess that my decision to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior confirmed those suspicions in their minds.

How did I come to Christ? The Lord sent people my way who shared the Gospel with me. At first, I was skeptical. If God really existed, I asked, then how come there are so many different religions in the world all claiming exclusive truth? Why should I consider Christianity to be any more valid than any other religion?

I used to be an agnostic who really didn't know if God existed. Though I had attended Hebrew School as a young boy and received a Bar Mitzvah at age 13, none of that convinced me that God existed. To me, that was nothing but dead, cultural religion that had no impact on me.

But when people starting sharing the Gospel with me, I began to read the Bible. I saw incredible things in the Bible that I never knew existed. Not only was God real, he actually spoke to His creation! He wasn't some ancient historical-religious figure who vanished 3,500 years ago as Judaism portrayed Him.

And I discovered something else--that the entire Old Testament literally proclaimed Jesus Christ to be the Jewish Messiah. For example, King David described Christ's crucifixion (Psalm 22) nearly 1,000 years before Christ appeared on earth. 

The prophet Micah revealed the Messiah's birthplace to be Bethlehem Ephratah nearly 600 years before Christ was born. (Micah 5:2) Nearly 800 years before Christ was born, the prophet Isaiah revealed that the Jewish Messiah would be born of a virgin birth. (Isaiah 7:14)

And Isaiah also revealed the life, ministry, death and resurrection of the Messiah. Here's what Isaiah wrote: "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all." (Isaiah 53:5-6)

And there is so much more. Why then, considering the overwhelming evidence for Christ, do the majority of Jews today continue to reject Him? Because they're following a counterfeit, man-made religious system that glorifies the rabbis. And because that system is so intertwined with their culture, those Jews who dare to reject that religious system are considered traitors and scum. Like I am.

Nevertheless, I know the truth and that truth has set me free from my sins and eternal damnation. That truth is this: "That God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) And this: "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." (1 John 5:11-12)

What makes that true? The historical-prophetic evidence that backs it up. That is why I became a Christian--by faith based upon the evidence.

There is simply no other way. And there is simply no other way to eternal life except through faith in the Son of God Jesus Christ.

When Christianity Became Irrelevant

As always, plenty of seats

In Chicago, another typical Saturday night--six dead and 24 shot across what has become the most violent city in America.

From the Chicago Tribune: "More than two dozen people were shot Saturday afternoon into Father's Day Sunday across the city, according to authorities. Of the 26 people shot, six died either at the crime scenes or at local hospitals. The youngest was 16. One of the men killed was an armed man shot by police after he raised a 9-millimeter handgun in their direction after bailing from a moving car, authorities said. The shootings stretched from 9400 S. Loomis Avenue on the South Side up to about North Avenue and Pulaski in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood."http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-chicago-crime-shooting-gun-violence-marquette-park,0,2169540.story

While Chicago's stringent handgun control laws fail to stem the rising tide of violence on city streets, so have its churches failed to spread the influence of the Gospel in many of the neighborhoods where the shootings took place.

That's because--as in many cities throughout North America and in the western world--Christianity has become passe in Chicago--a dinosaur from what now seems like an ancient time.

And why is that? Because too many churches have failed to "contend for the faith" (Jude 1:3) as the apostle Jude warned the early church 2,000 years ago to never stop doing.

What does contending for the faith mean? It means that the church must continue to keep the faith relevant to the world by combating the lies of false religions and canards such as evolution that are promoted as "settled science."

False religions are dangerous because they promote counterfeit paths to eternal life never revealed in the Bible. But what makes evolution so extremely dangerous is that it denies God's existence and teaches that physical life occurred through random natural processes rather than by the hand of God.

If evolution is true--and it's not--then life has no meaning or intrinsic value. And a human being is no more sacred than an ant or a worm. Under this worldview, which has become the prevailing worldview in the western world, no one is held morally accountable to a holy God for their actions. Thus, death becomes meaningless and is viewed as the ultimate escape from an evil, violent world.

This is why the far left embraces Darwinian evolution and forces it down the throats of millions of children throughout the west. Because Darwinism offers the ultimate promise of a values-free world without moral accountability and God's subsequent judgment of those who profane his laws.

More than anything else, Christendom's failure to combat Darwinism has led to "the increase in wickedness" (Matthew 24:12) that Jesus Christ Himself prophesied would prevail throughout the world in the last days preceding His return.

And Christendom's failure to contend for the faith has made the faith irrelevant and obsolete to many young people who believe God to be an outdated myth.

That's tragic. That explains why so many churches are practically empty on Sundays. And that explains why so many violent gangbangers, drunks, drug addicts, prostitutes and pimps freely share the same turf with many of these churches.

The Deadliest Sin

"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body."--1 Corinthians 6:18

From of all places, the Jewish Journal.com: "Eighty percent of young, unmarried Christians have had sex. Two-thirds have been sexually active in the last year. Even though, according to a recent Gallup poll, 76 percent of evangelicals believe sex outside of marriage is wrong."

Brad Greenberg is the man who wrote that article for the Jewish Journal, and he cited Relevant magazine as the source for his research material. When I went to Relevant's website to search for that article, I couldn't find it, so we'll have to take Mr. Greenberg at his word.

In fairness to Greenberg, his article wasn't a hatchet job meant to smear evangelicals--it merely pointed out the immoral path that an increasing number of Christians are choosing these days.

The Relevant article that Greenberg referred to may have been based upon a poll conducted by the National Association of Evangelicals which cited similar statistics concerning rampant sexual immorality among evangelicals: "According to the National Association of Evangelicals, 80 percent of unmarried evangelical Christians between ages 18-29 admit to having had premarital sex, a shocking figure when measured against the number of pledges made in youth ministries and wristbands worn endorsing abstinence around the country throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s."

What's wrong with sex before marriage if it occurs between two consenting adults? What's wrong with it? The Bible condemns premarital sex in no uncertain terms.

In fact, the apostle Paul issued this caveat to Christians who engage in fornication, adultery and homosexuality: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

Paul's warning is clear and it's based upon God's universal law recorded by Moses and written on the hearts of all human beings: That Christians who are sexually immoral will not be permitted into heaven. Then where will they go after they die? There's only one other place they can go and I think you know what place I'm referring to.

The growing immorality among today's evangelicals underscores how compromised the modern church has become with the world. And it also underscores the declining influence of the Bible in the lives of those who profess to be Christians.

One such professing Christian, a young woman named Chanel Graham said it all: "You see, promiscuity and abstinence can be two sides of the same coin. Both can hint at an insufficient understanding of God’s intention for sex, his blessing of it in the context of marriage, and his creation of his people as sexual beings. So preaching only abstinence is not the answer."

Tell that to Paul who wrote this in a letter to the early church in Ephesus: "But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people...For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God." (Ephesians 5:3-5)

It certainly isn't easy for Christians to remain sexually pure in the corrupt world that we live in. But sexual purity isn't optional for Christians--it's mandatory.

And if that's too difficult for them, then perhaps they need to start focusing more on living their lives for Jesus Christ and less on living for the world.

The Dreaded Revival

With Islam dominating the eastern world and Marxism-socialism-atheism bludgeoning the last vestiges of the Christian church in the west, Christianity seems headed for extinction.

However, biblical prophecy reveals that Christianity is going to experience an amazing comeback throughout the world in the upcoming future.

And while that sounds like good news to many, the Bible describes this end time revival as a grand counterfeit that's going to deceive millions of people throughout the world.

What's going to ignite this revival? Biblical prophecy is quite clear on that--supernatural phenomena that science won't be able to explain away. Miracles will begin to break out across the world that will convince even agnostics and atheists that a spiritual realm actually exists.

But what's going to ignite this revival? The apostle Paul explained: "The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing." (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10)

Who is this lawless one that Paul revealed in his prophecy? He is none other than the dreaded Antichrist who will eventually assume power over a world government. And what does the Antichrist have to do with a coming worldwide religious revival? He will be both a powerful political leader and a religious leader as well. He will have the power to perform miracles that will deceive many. (Revelation 13:13-14)

Thus, Paul's prophecy reveals that as the world gets close to a global government, a supernatural revival is going to break out that will spread throughout the entire world.

Certainly, a global religious revival based upon supernatural events seems like a fantasy. And yet biblical prophecy reveals that it's going to occur. Even Jesus Christ Himself revealed that this counterfeit revival will take place in the very last days: "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time." (Matthew 24:24-25)

Why is it important for Christians to be aware of this coming counterfeit revival? Because there are growing movements within Christendom that claim a great revival is coming that will convert the entire world to Christianity.

Two of these groups are called the Signs and Wonders Movement and the Dominion Movement that falsely claim the Bible predicts a great end time revival that will prepare the world for the return of Christ. What scripture do they base that belief upon? A scripture taken from the ancient prophet Joel (Joel 2:28-32) that speaks of a great spiritual awakening in the "last days."

In fact, the apostle Peter interpreted Joel's prophecy (Acts 2:14-41) to reveal the time beginning at Pentecost right after Christ's ascension to heaven until Christ's return. Peter explained that Joe's prophecy revealed God's appropriation of His Holy Spirit to all men and women who are truly born again by faith into Christ. According to Peter, Joel's prophecy never revealed any great end time revival preceding Christ's return.

And yet, by taking Joel's ancient prophecy out of context, end time revivalists have set themselves and their followers up for the greatest counterfeit revival in human history. When the Antichrist does appear, millions will believe that he is Jesus Christ who has returned to earth to establish his global kingdom.

This is why biblical knowledge is crucial. Ignorance is golden to the devil. And he derives his greatest delight in deceiving God's own people.

Know the Bible. Understand what it says concerning the last days preceding the return of Jesus Christ. Yes, there is a revival coming. But it's going to be a bad one that will lead to the eternal destruction of millions of people. Don't fall for it.

What Goes Around Comes Around

Edward Snowden

The United States Government is livid with a man named Edward Snowden for leaking a sensitive NSA espionage program named Prism that allows the security agency to invade the privacy of millions of American citizens.

Snowden, who revealed the top secret plan while in Hong Kong, was once employed as a CIA technical assistant before he was hired by a company named Booz Allen Hamilton. It was during his tenure at the CIA where Snowden claims he discovered the NSA's elaborate spy program that allows the agency to intrude into the lives of practically anyone it chooses.

How invasive is the NSA's espionage program? Snowden said this: "The NSA has built an infrastructure that allows it to intercept almost everything. With this capability, the vast majority of human communications are automatically ingested without targeting. If I wanted to see your emails or your wife's phone, all I have to do is use intercepts. I can get your emails, passwords, phone records, credit cards."

Obviously, government officials aren't happy with Snowden and they plan to hunt him down and bring him back to the U.S. to charge him with leaking a top secret government "national security" program. Meanwhile, Snowden is on the run and he hopes to land in a country that will offer him asylum from the long arm of U.S. justice.

When he was asked to explain the existence of the NSA's elaborate espionage program, President Barack Obama naturally deflected it toward his predecessor George W. Bush who launched the program during his administration. 

But if Obama was truly troubled by the NSA program as he made claim during his tenure as a U.S. senator, then why did he continue it after he gained the White House in 2009? He could've terminated it but he chose not to. Obama now claims that the program is necessary to protect the U.S. against terrorist attacks. And that seems odd considering that Obama recently declared that the war on terror had ended.

However, Obama's war against conservatives, evangelical Christians and the Tea Party isn't over. And that may explain why the NSA's espionage program lives on to continue invading the privacy of millions of people.

And consider this: What goes around comes around. If the Obama Administration feels betrayed by Snowden, then consider how Israel feels. The Jewish nation was recently betrayed by the Obama Administration after it leaked a top secret plan by Israel to build a military installation that would house an elaborate ballistic-missile defense system designed to protect Israel from a nuclear attack.

This type of information is closely guarded and its release can jeopardize the entire facility," said an Israeli military official who commented on the publication of the proposal but declined to be named because he wasn’t authorized to discuss the facility. He declined to say whether plans for the facility have been altered as a result of the disclosure.

And that wasn't the first time the Obama Administration leaked sensitive Israeli military secrets. Last year, Israel strongly suspected the administration of leaking its plans for a military strike against Iran. The leak informed the world that Israel had been granted access to airbases in Azerbaijan for a planned air strike against the Islamic nation.

And so, what goes around comes around. Is Edward Snowden's leak against the Obama Administration poetic justice for the administration's leaks of Israeli military secrets? You decide. 

Israel faces a real existential threat from Iran. To leak that nation's top secret military plans is to imperil millions of innocent lives. That's worse than betrayal--that's sacrilege. And that's a sin against God Himself. 

The Prophetic Totalitarian State

Though George Orwell's 1984 was published in the innocent year of 1949, his novel has proven to be prophetic in year 2013.

Orwell's book is a fictional account of an authoritarian government (Oceania) that wields absolute authority over its citizens in the year of 1984. Though governments have existed throughout history that have wielded such power, no nation has ever possessed the ability to keep perpetual track of practically every person within its borders.

Until recently. With the latest revelations that the Obama Administration has been using espionage against millions of Americans via phone records and the internet, Orwell's 1984 has become a fulfilled prophecy.

And consider the similarities between Orwell's novel and the United States of America under President Barack Obama. Big Brother, who is the glorified leader of Orwell's powerful government is similar to Obama. The Ministry of Truth, the agency that's responsible for revising history to glorify Big Brother's totalitarian government resembles America's corrupt media that tenaciously protects Obama from scrutiny and attacks those who attempt to expose his corruption.

Orwell's government practices mind control via a government system called Ingsoc (English Socialism) that is designed to promote collectivism and demonize individualism and independent thinking. In 1984, those who reject the authoritarian state's propaganda are charged with thought crimes. This parallels the propaganda that is dispensed by much of the American media and government school system that defines a racist as someone who believes in freedom, small government and a Judeo-Christian worldview.

And there's another similarity between 1984 and America, circa 2013. In 1984, the Oceanian citizens were known as Proles. Despite the prevailing poverty, hunger, destitution and disease, the Proles were brainwashed by their government to believe that they enjoyed freedom and opulent prosperity. The Proles weren't intelligent people. They chose to believe whatever their government and its propaganda ministry told them.

Compare Orwell's Proles to the 50 million Americans who voted to reelect Obama to a second term last November despite America's terrible economy, high unemployment and festering scandals. Fifty million Americans became the Proles who willfully chose to ignore the reality of a corrupt, paranoid and incompetent president who lacked both the moral compass to respect the U.S. Constitution and the ability to solve America's growing economic crisis.

And now comes Big Brother Obama's assault on privacy. Even historical liberal institutions such as the New York Times, the AP and the ACLU that have enthusiastically served Big Brother Obama are finally seeing what the Emperor looks like without his mythical coat of chrome. And when Big Brother's own Ministry of Truth begins turning on him, then you can well understand how bad Big Brother's rape of the Constitution is.

To be fair to Obama, the espionage programs that his administration is using to spy on Americans began under his predecessor George W. Bush. Ironically, when he was a senator, Obama criticized Bush's encroachment into the private lives of Americans. But now as president, he has greatly expanded those clandestine espionage programs.

And this is prophetic. Biblical prophecy reveals that a world government is coming that will implement the ultimate espionage system--a computer chip or bar-code system that will enable this government to track everyone on earth.

The apostle John, who recorded the Revelation in about 90 A.D. wrote this: "He (Antichrist) also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number (666) of his name." (Revelation 13:16-17)

The technology already exists for such a tracking system to be implemented worldwide. All that's lacking is a one-world government. And that's coming. And the ultimate Big Brother who's going to implement that system will be the dreaded Antichrist.

The Other Washington

Booker T. Washington

To describe Booker T. Washington as a gifted man would be an understatement. He was a brilliant man.

And he would've been considered a brilliant man in any generation among any people throughout human history.

Who was Booker T. Washington? To most people, he's merely an historical figure that schools, public buildings and libraries are named after. To African-Americans, he was a civil rights leader who fought for freedom at a time in American history when blacks who stood up to the prevailing white ruling establishment literally put their lives on the line.

Washington was born in the antebellum south in the mid-1850s. He was born to a slave woman named Jane and an unknown white father. Despite segregation and the Jim Crow laws of the south, Washington managed to put himself through school and became an educator, author and a gifted speaker.

And he founded the Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute in Alabama in 1881. That institution later became known as Tuskegee University.

Washington refused to let racism defeat him. From biography.com: "Under Booker T. Washington's leadership, Tuskegee became a leading school in the country. At his death, it had more than 100 well-equipped buildings, 1,500 students, a 200-member faculty teaching 38 trades and professions, and a nearly $2 million endowment. Washington put much of himself into the school's curriculum, stressing the virtues of patience, enterprise, and thrift. He taught that economic success for African Americans would take time, and that subordination to whites was a necessary evil until African Americans could prove they were worthy of full economic and political rights. He believed that if African Americans worked hard and obtained financial independence and cultural advancement, they would eventually win acceptance and respect from the white community."

Though Washington died nearly a century ago, (1915) his words and wisdom are still golden. And his wisdom is something that every race, creed and nationality needs to study.

Though he was discriminated against, Washington refused to become embittered by the ignorance of others. Concerning the racism he faced, Washington said this: "I shall allow no man to belittle my soul by making me hate him."  www.BTWsociety.org 

Concerning those who believe in lowering academic and achievement standards to make it easier for African-Americans to succeed in life, Washington said this: "No greater injury can be done to any youth than to let him feel that because he belongs to this or that race he will be advanced in life regardless of his own merits or efforts."

Concerning the critical importance of good manners and respect for authority, Washington said this: "Those who have accomplished the greatest results are those who never grow excited or lose self-control, but are always calm, self-possessed, patient and polite."

And concerning those who profit through grievance and race-hustling, Washington stated this: "There is a class of race problem solvers who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances because they do no want to lose their jobs...(they) don't want the patient to get well."

If Washington returned to our modern world today, what would he think? While he'd be proud to see an African-American president in the White House, I think that he'd be dismayed to see that President Barack Obama is implementing policies that are destroying blacks by making them perpetual victims who are hopelessly dependent upon big government.

And I think that Washington would be dismayed to see the lives of millions of blacks ruined by the liberal policies of social elitists. He'd be crushed to see the violence, poverty, crime and immorality that bedevils the black community in America. And I think that he'd be outraged by the poverty pimps and race hustlers who have made a fortune by exploiting African-Americans and holding them down to prevent them from succeeding.

If Booker T. Washington came back to the United States of America, circa 2013, he wouldn't be a happy man. Because not only would he weep for his own race, he'd weep for the moral destitution that has befallen the entire nation.

You see, Booker T. Washington was a true Born-Again Christian. And he realized that any nation that rejected God and thumbed its collective nose at His laws wouldn't survive for very long. Washington said this: "I do not believe in waiting for heaven of the future. If we imitate the life of Christ as nearly as possible, heaven will come about more and more right here on earth."

God bless you Booker T. Washington. And rest in peace.

Setting The Record Straight

Mikey Weinstein

First of all, Michael "Mikey" Weinstein deserves our respect. He's a U.S. service veteran. He served his country well and he deserves to be recognized and honored for that.

Secondly, when I published a post about him on May 4, I erroneously inferred that he had been hired by the Pentagon. Contrary to what I posted, his relationship with the Pentagon seems to be strictly a perfunctory role in an advisory capacity.

And thirdly, I inferred that President Barack Obama was directly responsible for Weinstein obtaining his role with the Pentagon. There is no evidence to suggest that Obama opened the door for Weinstein at the Pentagon.

When I published that post, I was quite upset with some remarks that Weinstein had published on the Huffington Post concerning evangelical Christians. I allowed my emotions to cloud my judgment and I wrote things that weren't factual. That's my mistake and I own up to it. One should never allow their personal emotions to influence a story. Unfortunately, it happens. As a Christian, I have no problem admitting my mistakes.

Several of Weinstein's supporters contacted me to criticize me for describing him as a "dancing monkey." A dancing monkey is a pejorative used to describe a person who willingly allows himself to be exploited by others for personal gain. A more popular definition for such a person is a puppet or a sycophant. I didn't use the term "dancing monkey" to disparage Weinstein personally. As a Christian, I don't insult people whom I disagree with.

I do believe that Weinstein and his organization, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, (MRFF) are being used by the Obama Administration to promote propaganda that denigrates evangelical Christians by making them look like intolerant bigots who want to shove Christianity down the throats of those who either follow other religions or secularism. It's certainly no secret that the Obama Administration loathes evangelicals.

When he was recently interviewed by Bill O'Reilly on the Factor, Weinstein used the term "Crusaders" to describe those who want to use the U.S. military to spread Christianity across the world. "Crusaders" is a derogatory term often used by Muslim propaganda groups such as CAIR to explain the Islamic world's hatred of America. 

These groups claim that U.S. troops were perceived as crusaders when they invaded Afghanistan and later Iraq. The fact that Weinstein uses the term "Crusaders" to disparage evangelicals in the military leads me to believe that he isn't speaking for himself but rather for the Obama Administration and its surrogates. 

One of Weinstein's supporters also accused me of "cherry-picking" his comments after I republished some of his quotes from his Huffington Post blog that disparaged evangelicals. Here are Weinstein's own words: "If these fundamentalist Christian monsters of human degradation and tyranny cannot broker or barter your acceptance of their putrid theology, then they crave for your universal silence in the face of their rapacious reign of theocratic terror. Indeed, they ceaselessly lust, ache, and pine for you to do absolutely nothing to thwart their oppression. Comply, my friends, and you become as monstrously savage as are they. I beg you, do not feed these hideous monsters with your stoic lethargy, callousness and neutrality. Do not lubricate the path of their racism, bigotry, and prejudice. When you cherry-pick a comment, you lift it out of the context of a broader statement to make it convey something that it was never intended to mean. How do you cherry-pick the type of invective that Weinstein leveled against evangelicals? Out of what context were the above remarks taken? Was Weinstein merely joking? Or, where has he written something that disproves his hatred of evangelicals? Show it to me. Send it to me. I'm willing to listen.

True Christians aren't homophobes, Islamophobes, racists or bigots as Weinstein claims. I may reject the homosexual lifestyle, but I don't denigrate homosexuals. I may reject Islam, but I don't insult Muslims. True Christians are taught to respect others whether or not they accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. And certainly, there are always phonies who claim to be Christians who live contrary to their faith. Of those, Christ stated: "Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them." (Matthew 7:20)

In conclusion, Mikey Weinstein recently hurled some extremely vicious slurs against evangelical Christians. His remarks were repugnant. They were disgusting. And they define him the same way he defines his enemies.

I urge all Christians to pray for this man. And forgive him. He needs salvation through Jesus Christ. Don't return his insults. That will only harden him and justify his hatred. Deep down, I think Mikey Weinstein is a decent man who's been influenced by some very bad people. Let's hope he repents.

The Prophetic Persecution

Defender or Denier of Religious Freedom?

"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived."--2 Timothy 3:12-13

Biblical prophecy clearly reveals that in the last days directly preceding the return of Jesus Christ, true Christians are going to be severely persecuted throughout the world. Listen to the prophetic words of Christ himself: "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me." (Matthew 24:9)

And certainly, Christ's prophecy has been fulfilled numerous times. In the Middle East, Islamists brutally torture Christians; burn down their churches and execute those who are even suspected of blaspheming the prophet Muhammad. 

In predominantly Islamic Indonesia, Christians are stripped of their homes and property; Christian women are brutally raped and their children are savagely butchered to death. Why? Because they refuse to convert to Islam and submit to Allah.

In China, churches that haven't been approved by the Communist nation are shut down while their members are jailed and charged by the state with dispensing religious propaganda.

And in formerly predominant Christian nations such as Sweden, Canada and New Zealand, Christians are fined and even incarcerated for quoting biblical verses that condemn the homosexual lifestyle. 

And now in the United States, Christians are being bullied and harassed by a federal government that is openly hostile to their faith. And that hostility is also coming from groups and organizations that promote themselves as defenders of freedom, justice and the First Amendment.

Such as the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. (MRFF) This group claims that it functions as a watchdog-advocacy-civil rights organization for members of the U.S. military to ensure that their religious freedoms are protected as defined by the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

In reality, the MRFF functions as a sledgehammer to bludgeon evangelical Christians into complete silence. The group, founded in 2005 by Michael "Mikey" Weinstein, hasn't been shy about expressing its hatred for evangelicals who Weinstein claims harassed him during his military service in the Air Force because he was Jewish. According to Weinstein and his organization, Christian fundamentalists have a long history of intimidating and harassing non-Christians in the military. 

And certainly, Weinstein has a right to oppose that and he has a right to fight for legislation that would outlaw all forms of religious proselytizing in the U.S. military. As a U.S. citizen, Weinstein has that right and I fully support his right to try and expunge the military of proselytizing even if I disagree with that. 

However, he doesn't have the right to insult and threaten fundamental Christians simply because he dislikes them. Here's an example of his vitriol: "If these fundamentalist Christian monsters of human degradation and tyranny cannot broker or barter your acceptance of their putrid theology, then they crave for your universal silence in the face of their rapacious reign of theocratic terror. That's pure hate speech that's equivalent with the type of incendiary rhetoric that comes from arch-racist Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist Church. And Weinstein should be soundly condemned as a hater for spewing that kind of vitriol. There is simply no place in a free society for that kind of disgusting language. And I don't believe that the First Amendment should protect any speech that harasses anyone simply because of their faith or worldview. 

Interestingly, the MRFF claims that 96 percent of its members are "Christians." While I'm skeptical of that number, I can't imagine why anyone who claims to be a Christian would want to belong to an organization such as the MRFF.

Even if you agree with Weinstein that religious proselytizing of any kind has no place in the U.S. military, you shouldn't agree with his degrading insults against Christians. And to remain silent is tantamount to condoning such bigotry. You should condemn it. And you shouldn't be a member of any organization that levels such ad hominem attacks against anyone.

The MRFF's attacks against evangelical Christians are another fulfillment of biblical prophecy. And the persecution of Christians throughout the world is going to get even worse. How much worse? Just wait and see.
