America's Doom

From a logistical standpoint, the imminent nuclear deal between the United States and Iran is a catastrophe. And from a spiritual standpoint, this deal will become the curse that ultimately brings America down for good.

Logistically, the deal opens the cash register for Iran to acquire over $100 billion that will be used to fund international terrorism. Though the deal technically calls for inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities, the Iranians will control the inspections and decide what sites get inspected and when. The deal is so awful it would be laughable if it wasn't so tragic.

Why was this deal made? While the uber-mendacious Obama administration claims that it was made to prevent the Persian nation from acquiring nuclear weapons, only a fool believes that. Unfortunately, America has a significant population of fools who vote. That was evidenced in 2008 and again in 2012 when American voters chose a corrupt, dishonest, unqualified and incompetent man in Barack Obama to be their president.

In Israel, the Jews are preparing for the worst once the deal becomes official. Arlene Kushner, an American-Israeli blogger, wrote this concerning the Senate Democrats who sold out their constituencies to bow down to Obama: There was a time when there was a tradition of Scoop Jackson Democrats, of JFK Democrats, of Joe Lieberman Democrats, of Democrats who were willing to defend national security.  Sadly, that is becoming rarer and rarer in today's Congress. So to every Democratic senator, they are facing a choice: do you value the safety and security of the United States of America; do you value standing with our friend and ally, the nation of Israel; do you value the lives of millions of Americans; or do you value more party loyalty to the Obama White House? (From Israel: You Cannot Wash Your Hands of That Blood)

Certainly, that's a rhetorical question. Then Kushner really got down to business: To every Democratic senator who's said he or she will support this deal, I ask you to consider: how will you look in the eyes of the mothers and fathers of our soldiers, the hundreds of soldiers, American soldiers, who were murdered in Iraq with Iranian IEDs that came from General Soleimani. This deal lifts sanctions on General Soleimani. Tell me, if you're a Democratic senator, how you look a mom in the eye and say, "I voted to lift sanctions on the man who murdered your son when he was defending this nation."

Did the Obama administration truly negotiate this deal in order to prevent the Islamic theocracy from building nuclear weapons? Of course not. Then why did they do this deal? For one reason and one reason only: To enhance Obama's phony legacy as a great statesman of peace and a uniter of the nations. That will work with the cretins who are too lazy or stupid--or both--to find out the truth, but it won't work with those who know better.

To illustrate just how bad this deal is, Secretary of State John Kerry has promised that America will offer Israel weapons so the Jewish state can beef up its security. Against what? If the deal is supposed to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, then why is the Obama administration offering Israel weapons?

And why is the Obama administration allowing a rogue nation to acquire the funds and obtain the nuclear technology that it has admitted it seeks in order to destroy the United States? That's like handing your enemy a loaded gun and then buying one for yourself in case he decides to shoot you.

From an editorial in the Iranian newspaper, the Kayhan: Let us have faith that America is incapable of any misstep [against Iran], and that it cannot even attack Iranian facilities without the White House being destroyed in under 10 minutes.  Let us have faith that the old ‘village leader’ [i.e. the US] has fallen onto his deathbed, and that even in his youth, he never made the mistake [of daring to attack Iran], and that he, like Israel, remains mired in quicksand. 

This deal brings us closer to the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy recorded by Daniel 2,600 years ago. (Daniel 8) The prophet revealed that a Middle-Eastern power he identified as Media-Persia would terrorize the world in the end times until it was destroyed by a powerful western nation. Who is Media-Persia? That's modern Iran.

Though Daniel identified the western nation as Greece, that name is a metaphor for a western power that's the United States. And Daniel revealed that once Persia (Iran) is destroyed, "Greece" (the United States) will "be cut off." What does that mean? The United States is no longer going to be a superpower.

We're truly living in prophetic times. Many of the signs that Jesus Christ revealed concerning the days preceding His return are now taking place. (Matthew 24) We're seeing an increase in earthquakes and famines; wars and rumors of wars, escalating violence and evil, and the increasing persecution of Christians all over the world.

Christ said this: "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it (Christ's return) is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away." (Matthew 24:32-35)

The Post-Christian United States

Occasionally, I'm criticized because I don't promote conservative political candidates "who'll turn America around and take back our nation!" I'm chastised because I spend too much time "in the Bible and not enough time promoting conservative political candidates."

First of all, you aren't going to turn America around at the ballot box. Secondly, how are you going take America back when godless humanists control much of the government, the public schools, media and the entertainment industry? And thirdly, the very reason why the United States has become a post-Christian nation is because too many folks who profess to be Christians spend very little--if any--time reading and studying their bibles.

Nearly, 3,000 years ago, King Solomon wrote this: "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline." (Proverbs 1:7) Nearly 80 percent of Americans claim to be Christians, and yet their actions clearly betray their declaration of faith. A growing majority of professing Christians today support such anti-biblical causes as same-sex marriage and abortion.

How can you claim to be a Christian when you support godless causes that the author of your faith condemned? What? Jesus Christ never condemned abortion or same-sex marriage? Jesus Christ is called the Word who became flesh (John 1:14), meaning that He's the One who wrote the Law and the 10 Commandments and revealed them to Moses. Thus, those who claim that Christ never publicly condemned such sins are completely ignorant of the Bible and its author.

Politics is the lazy person's way of promoting the faith. Promoting political candidates is much easier than promoting the gospel because that involves engaging people on the street and challenging them to get out of sin and commit their lives to Christ. Although political candidates may be able to limit crime and moral decadence via the laws they write and pass, they can't solve the problem of sin that's the cause of all crime and moral decadence.

The reason why so many Christians continue to put their faith in the ballot box is because until recently, it generally worked. Back in 1980, millions of Americans denied the ultra-liberal and thoroughly inept Jimmy Carter a second term in the White House and chose a conservative named Ronald Reagan. Reagan reversed the damage that Carter had done to the nation at home and abroad and made America the most powerful nation on earth once again.

Reagan was succeeded by George H.W. Bush, a moderate conservative who was then succeeded by Bill Clinton, a liberal who was moderately conservative on certain issues such as welfare reform and traditional marriage. And Clinton was succeeded by George W. Bush, a professing evangelical who governed very much like a big government liberal. And of course, we know who succeeded George W. Bush.

The political leaders of nations are a direct reflection of the people who elect them. If the people are righteous and godly, they'll elect righteous and godly leaders. But if the people are depraved and evil, they'll elect wicked leaders after their own hearts. Thus, Barack Obama is a direct reflection of the morally depraved culture he came from. He's a liar and a Marxist and a virulent racist. And tragically, that's a pretty good synopsis of many Americans today.

And so, whoever succeeds Obama isn't going to change America anymore than any powerful politician is going to change America. America won't be changed until her somnolent Christian community wakes up and begins to exert its influence once again on the culture.

Sure, that's hard. That'll bring persecution and even death. If you want to know how it's done, then read the Book of Acts and the apostle Paul's epistles to the early churches. The apostles gave up all their worldly possessions for Christ because they knew that a far better place awaited them in Heaven after they left this fallen world. They put their faith completely in Christ. And their faith wasn't blind--it was based upon hard evidence.

Here's what Paul wrote in his second epistle to the early church in Corinth: "We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything." (2 Corinthians 6:3-10)

That's genuine faith. That's the kind of faith that changes cultures and civilizations. And that's the kind of faith that's needed to turn America back from the brink of destruction. Because without it, America is doomed.

The Prophetic Last Days

Daniel's prophetic vision

Nearly 2,600 years ago, the ancient Hebrew prophet Daniel received an allegorical vision from God concerning the last days. In the vision, Daniel witnessed a one-horned goat travel from a distant land to confront and ultimately destroy a powerful two-horned ram.

When Daniel received his vision in the 6th century B.C., the Jews were living in captivity in Persia. Their captivity began in 586 B.C. when Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar invaded Jerusalem, and it finally ended in 445 B.C. when Persian ruler Darius II allowed them to return to Israel.

Here's what Daniel saw and recorded: "In my vision I saw myself in the citadel of Susa in the province of Elam; in the vision I was beside the Ulai Canal. I looked up, and there before me was a ram with two horns, standing beside the canal, and the horns were long. One of the horns was longer than the other but grew up later. I watched the ram as it charged toward the west and the north and the south. No animal could stand against it, and none could rescue from its power. It did as it pleased and became great." (Daniel 8:2-4)

Daniel's vision was metaphorical. The animals represent two powerful nations that will confront each other in the end times before the goat finally destroys the ram. What nations do the goat and the ram represent? An angel appeared and interpreted the vision for the prophet: "I am going to tell you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time of the end. The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia. The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between its eyes is the first king. The four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge from his nation but will not have the same power." (Daniel 8:19-22)

Many biblical scholars believe that Daniel's vision was fulfilled in 331 B.C. when Alexander the Great invaded and conquered Persia. But the prophecy couldn't have been fulfilled then because that wasn't the time of the end. In fact, Jesus Christ hadn't even appeared on earth and wouldn't do so for another three centuries.

If the prophecy concerns the end times, then it raises some serious questions. We know who Greece is. But Media and Persia? Those ancient kingdoms vanished long ago. Who was the prophet referring to? Ancient Media is now part of modern Iraq and Iran. Ancient Persia was located in what is now Iran. We know how dangerous Iran has become in recent decades.

But Greece? Modern Greece is bankrupt. Its military couldn't conquer the island of Fiji, let alone Iran. And so, how can we interpret Daniel's prophecy? Is it true? Is it a revelation from God concerning the end times on earth? Or, is it a fraud? Indeed it's a revelation from God.

Then how do we explain Greece? Very easily. Greece was the most predominant gentile nation on earth in the ancient times. In fact, the ancient Greeks were synonymous with gentiles, and the apostle Paul frequently equated Greeks with gentiles in his epistles. For example: "There is neither Jew nor Greek (Gentile), neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)

Therefore, the kingdom of Greece mentioned in Daniel's prophecy isn't the literal nation of Greece, but rather is a metaphor for a powerful gentile nation. What nation could that be? Daniel revealed that the goat traveled "from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground." (Daniel 8:5) That can't be the literal nation Greece that exists just to the northwest of Iran. It has to be another nation that comes from the distant west. Note that Daniel saw this allegorical goat travel a vast distance without touching the ground. That sounds like a metaphor for a military invasion of fighter jets and possibly ICBMs.

Who then is Daniel's Greece? I believe it's the United States that still possesses the most powerful military and nuclear arsenal on earth. And I believe that America's recent nuclear agreement with Iran, a horrible deal brokered by the uber-mendacious and arch-corrupt Obama administration, brings us closer to the fulfillment of Daniel's ancient prophecy.

There's no need to recap the deal. Suffice to say, it was an agreement drawn up in hell that will fast-track Iran to a nuclear power. That's bad for Israel, the Middle East, Europe, the United States and the entire world. Iran is a Shiite nation that possesses an apocalyptic vision for the end. The Iranian Mullahs believe that the Imam Mahdi (Islamic messiah) cannot appear until Israel is destroyed; all the Jews have been removed from the earth and all the infidel nations have been conquered by Islam.

However, God isn't going to allow Iran to succeed. He's going to intervene by using the U.S. to destroy the Islamic regime before the Iranians begin launching nukes all over the planet. The U.S. certainly won't stop the Iranians on Obama's watch. That task will be fulfilled by someone else--perhaps the next president, unless America's next president is Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden or (God help us) Bernie Sanders.

Oh yes. There's more to Daniel's prophecy. After the allegorical goat destroys the ram, its "large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven." (Daniel 8:8) The large horn represents the U.S. The United States will fall from its status as a superpower after the nation destroys Iran. Why? Because of America's multiplied sins from abortion to same-sex marriage to her betrayal of Israel.

God has given America time to repent. And she refuses. And so, judgment has come upon her. Indeed, we're living in the prophetic last days.

The Persecution Has Arrived

By now, many folks are familiar with Aaron and Melissa Klein, the Christian couple who operated a popular bakery in Gresham, Oregon for several years until they ran afoul of the state of Oregon and its LGBT community in 2013 when they declined to bake a cake for a lesbian couple engaged to be married.

The Kleins refused the order because of their biblical worldview that condemns the homosexual lifestyle. Though the gay couple had to go elsewhere to find their cake, they decided to teach the Kleins a lesson for turning them down.

The couple filed a complaint with Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI), and the agency subsequently dropped the hammer on the Kleins. Big time. And when word of the snub spread through Oregon's LGBT community, the gay brownshirts descended on their bakery and began threatening people who did business with them.

The hammer that BOLI slammed the Kleins with was a $135,000 judgment awarded to the gay couple for "emotional suffering stemming directly from unlawful discrimination. The amounts are damages related to the harm suffered by the Complainants, not fines or civil penalties which are punitive in nature." 

How BOLI calculated that financial sum is a mystery. How do you put a price-tag on "emotional suffering"? Evidently, BOLI knows how to do that. More likely, the "award" was a message sent to other Christian business owners in Oregon and elsewhere in America that if they walk the talk outside their churches, they'll pay a heavy price. And so, think of that $135,000 as hush money.

Interestingly, on BOLI's website, people with religious worldviews who operate businesses or are employed in the state of Oregon are protected from religious discrimination. Except, evidently, when they refuse to service gays. Then their first amendment rights don't apply. One wonders whether the Kleins would've been prosecuted by BOLI had they been Muslims. When gay push comes to Muslim shove, the lesbian couple seeking that wedding cake would've likely been shoved on to another bakery without a whimper.

Make no mistake about it: The Kleins were persecuted rather than prosecuted by the state of Oregon because they openly practiced their faith, not because they discriminated against anyone. Did the lesbian couple intentionally target the Kleins' because they're Christians? It's possible, although no one can prove that. But you can be sure that the gay community in America would never try to pull that on a Muslim-owned business. Because you know what would happen if they did.

The persecution of Christians in America such as the Kleins is tragic, and yet prophetic. Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ warned His followers that they would face intense persecution throughout the world in the last days preceding His return. And while we've seen that persecution elsewhere in the world, it stayed away from the United States. But now it's here.

Here's what Christ said concerning the last days: "Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me." (Matthew 24:9) And He said this: "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." (John 15:18-19)

The apostle Paul weighed in on the subject with this: "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived." (2 Timothy 3:12-13) 

And the apostle Peter added this: "Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you." (1 Peter 4:12-14)

The persecution of the Kleins isn't an isolated incident. Earlier this year, the owners of a pizzeria located in Walkerton, Indiana were bullied by gay enforcers into shutting down their business for a few days after word spread that they had declined to cater a gay wedding. Last year, (2014) the Colorado Civil Rights Commission ruled that Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop (Lakewood, Colorado) discriminated against a gay couple when he refused to bake them a cake for their wedding.

While none of those examples rises to the level of the type of persecution Christians are experiencing in the Middle East and Northern Africa (rapes, beheadings, torture, church burnings etc.), it's only the beginning. And once it begins, it starts accelerating like a freight train.

Liberty Institute founder Kelly Shackelford states that the growing hostility against Christians in America is alarming: There are children being prohibited from writing Merry Christmas to the soldiers, senior citizens being banned from praying over their meals in the Senior Center, the VA banning the mention of God in military funerals, numerous attempts to have veterans memorials torn down if they have any religious symbols such as a cross, and I could go on and on.

Indeed, the persecution has arrived. And it's only going to get worse. It's yet another prophetic sign that we're living in the last days.

A Warning to America

If God spoke to America today, then what would He tell her? Would He be pleased that a nation founded upon Judeo-Christian values has increasingly rejected those values over the past 50 years?

Would He be pleased that a nation that touts itself as the most fairest, freest and safest nation on earth has murdered over 55 million unborn babies since 1973?

Would He be pleased that the people who call upon His name are increasingly marginalized, mocked and persecuted in America merely because they preach His gospel and obey His commandments?

Would He be pleased that under the bumbling and corrupt Obama administration, America has become an enemy of Israel for the first time since the Jewish state became a world nation once again in 1948?

Would He be pleased with America's churches that have increasingly abandoned Israel over the past 40 years to embrace the enemies of the Jewish state that seek Israel's destruction? 

And would He be pleased with a growing number of America's Christians who have abandoned Jesus Christ to bow down to the false god of this world?

No, He wouldn't be pleased. And, unless America corporately repents of her multiplied sins against the Lord, bad things are just around the corner.

Such as? Such as severe weather that will cause numerous casualties and extensive property damage; devastating earthquakes that will level entire sections of towns and cities; droughts that will dry up lakes, rivers and streams, and famines that will wipe out a significant amount of America's agricultural industry.

Here's what I wrote four weeks ago (January 18, 2015) just before America's upper east coast was clobbered by a series of blizzards: "The Lord uses bad weather as a warning sign that He's not pleased with the behavior of His creation. The bad weather that struck America's upper east coast in 2012-2013 slammed states that not only offer gay marriage, but also have some of the highest abortion rates in the nation. Though there's been a break in the bad weather along the east coast, it's going to return. And with a vengeance. And it's going to strike more than just the upper east coast--it's going to strike all over the planet."

Was that a prophetic word I received from the Lord? Or, was that a coincidence? I'll let you decide.

However, I'm going to give you another word of knowledge. A significant earthquake is going to strike somewhere in the United States and perhaps very soon. And it's going to be a bad one. How bad? It could be worse than the 1906 earthquake that devastated the city of San Francisco.

Where will it strike? I don't know. But I sense that it may strike somewhere in the western part of the nation. Wherever it strikes, it's going to do a lot of damage.

After it strikes, will Americans finally wake up and recognize that they've come under divine judgement for their many sins? Or, will they choose to blame it on global warming? Unless America wakes up and soon, destruction is coming.

Why America? Doesn't sin prevail all over the world? Indeed it does. However, consider something that Jesus Christ once said: "But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." (Luke 12:48)

America was blessed by God to be the leader of the nations because she embraced His laws and commandments. She was entrusted with teaching those laws and commandments to the world. America was also entrusted with protecting Israel against the Jewish state's numerous enemies because she understood that Israel belongs to God.

And lately, America has rebelled against God. There's still time for repentance. But the window of opportunity is beginning to close. And once it closes, it will be closed for good.

Nearly 3,000 years ago, the Lord spoke these words to Solomon, the king of Israel whose nation had a habit of rebelling against His laws and commandments, just as America has done today: "When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land, or send a plague among my people, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:13-14)

America; the time for repentance is now. Don't wait until until tomorrow, because tomorrow may be too late.
