The Modern Days of Noah

Those who believe in the Bible's ancient prophecies concerning the last days on earth, are convinced that those prophecies are being fulfilled these days right before our eyes.

But for those who dismiss the Bible as an outdated relic written by ignorant men, no amount of calamity is going to wake them from their spiritual comas. They either fail or purposely refuse to recognize that the world is getting worse, and rapidly so.

But for those who've been around awhile and remember better days--such as your's truly--the world's gotten much worse over the past 40 years. So much so that many forms of evil are now celebrated as virtues. And those who dare to call evil what it really is are being persecuted as never before.

It was Jesus Christ who revealed that the last days on earth preceding His return will be like the ancient days of Noah. (Matthew 24:37) What was the world like in Noah's time? It was desperately wicked. It was so wicked that the Lord destroyed all life on earth except for Noah, his family and two of every animal by bringing torrential rains on the planet for 40 days and nights. 

How do we know that we're living in a similar time to Noah's? By the events that are happening across the world. Just open your eyes and take a look around. Christians are being persecuted and slaughtered by Muslims throughout the Middle East and in Northern Africa. Israel faces the threat of nuclear annihilation by Iran. Violence is breaking out all over the western world. Abortion is rampant. Sexual perversion (same-sex marriage, homosexuality, transgenderism etc.) is now celebrated while traditional marriage is scorned. And millions of babies that aren't aborted are being born out of wedlock and into broken homes.  

Two thousand years ago, the apostle Paul explained the reason why moral depravity flourishes. It flourishes because people forget God and reject His laws and commandments. Here's what Paul wrote in his epistle to the early Roman church: "Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." (Romans 1:28-32)

Absent the fear and knowledge of the Lord (Proverbs 1:7), depravity prevails. What the Bible condemns as wickedness is now celebrated as good and natural. For example, former U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner has now become Caitlyn Jenner because he claims that he's really a woman who was trapped in a man's body all his life. And so, the new identity along with the new appearance.

Jenner isn't a woman. Rather, his sinful nature has encouraged him to rebel against God by assuming the identity of the opposite sex. Here's what the Bible says: "A woman must not wear men’s clothing, nor a man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God detests anyone who does this." (Deuteronomy 22:5) 

Why are Jenner and an increasing number of people changing their sexual identities? Because they don't believe it's evil. And yet it is. And the world celebrates their depravity by calling their transformation "freedom." And Jenner and his-her ilk are lauded for smashing the chains of outmoded biblical morals to follow their natural instincts.

But think about that: If Jenner is merely following his own natural instincts, then what about pedophiles, murderers, rapists, robbers etc? Why can't they claim they're merely following their natural instincts when they do what they do? A society that increasingly turns its back on God and His transcendent moral laws quickly descends into anarchy and chaos. That's happening throughout the western world. And that's what brought God's judgment upon the ancient world of Noah.

Nearly 2,800 years ago, the prophet Isaiah recorded these words of the Lord concerning wicked people who inverted His laws: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." (Isaiah 5:20)

Indeed. A woe pronounced in the Bible in a synonym for a curse. And everyone who celebrates the depravity of a Bruce-Caitlyn Jenner is under a curse. What Jenner did isn't righteous--it's sinful. And by celebrating and promoting such a detestable sin, Jenner will be severely judged by God along with all those who encouraged him. You can count on that.
